How To Register for SHA or SHIF Kenya
Enroll with the Social Health Authority by completing the form with your information, and secure medical insurance for yourself and your family.
There are three ways to register for the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) in Kenya:
1. USSD code
Dial *147# on your phone, enter your ID number, and follow the prompts to provide your personal information
2. Online
Go to the SHIF website https://afyayangu.go.ke/ and enter your personal details. You will need to verify your account with a one-time password (OTP) sent to your phone. You will also need to upload a passport photo and provide information about your employment, civil status, and dependents. Finally, you will need to set up a PIN to log in.
3. In person
Visit a SHIF registration center or agent, fill out the registration form, and provide the required documents.
Employers must register all employees with the Social Health Authority (SHA) by October 1, 2024. Employers can register online https://employers.sha.go.ke/ or at a SHIF office.
